Yu Yuan was born in China and began his flute studies with Professor Wang Yongxin at the Middle School of the China Central Conservatory. He now studies at the Paris Conservatoire with Professor Philippe Bernold and Florence Souchard-DeleĢpine. He was given an honorable mention at the International Prague Spring Festival Music Competition is a past winner of both the Krakow International Flute Competition and the Kobe International Flute Competition. He has received the Discovery Award at the International Classical Music Awards and the scholarship of the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein.
