Wonbeen Chung (21, South Korea)

Wonbeen Chung began playing the violin at the age of six, and at the age of 15 she was admitted to the Seoul Arts High School. In 2014 she began undergraduate studies with Professor Mi-kyung Lee at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. Wonbeen is a laureate of numerous international competitions and 2015 she made her Korean recital debut at the Kumho Arthall as a Kumho Young Artist. She has participated in the Tiber Varga International Music Academy and the Savonlinna Music Academy, and she received the Youth Development Prize at the Ninth International Violin Competition Leopold Mozart. She was also a finalist of the Sixth International Violin Competition Henri Marteau. Wonbeen has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra and the Korean Chamber Orchestra.
