Ray Wyant studied under Janet Averett in the Bay Area of California before attending the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he remains a student under the tutelage of Yehuda Gilad. He has occupied the principal clarinet chair of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, with which he toured Europe under the baton of Christian Reif and Michael Tilson Thomas. Ray has appeared with the Thornton Symphony and San José Chamber Orchestra. He participated in the Competition of the Philadelphia International Music Festival where he attained a place in the final.
