Minkyung Chu studied at the Korea National University of the Arts and is currently a student at the Haute École de Musique de Genève where she is taught by Romain Guyot. She is an experienced competitor having participated in the Concours de Genève, the ARD Competition in Munich, the Jacques Lancelot International Clarinet Competition and the Osaka International Competition. She is a laureate of Yookyoung National Competition (First Prize), the Sungjung National Competition (First Prize), the Young-Chang Music Competition (Grand Prize) and the International Clarinet Association Competition in Madrid (Third Prize). Minkyung has appeared as a soloist with the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sungnam Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed as a soloist at the Kumho Prodigy Concert and the Kumho Young Artist Concert.
