Matteo Mastromarino (26)

Matteo Mastromarino currently occupies the principal clarinet chair at the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a laureate of the Lisbon International Clarinet Competition, (First Prize), the Fiorindo International Clarinet Competition (Second Prize) and of competitions in Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands. He has performed as a soloist with the Orquestra Metropolitana di Lisbõa, the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra and the Magna Grecia Orchestra and has played with ensembles including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil and Ensemble Les Dissonances. Matteo has worked with conductors including Fabio Luisi, Riccardo Muti and Daniele Gatti. He studied with Antonio Tinelli and Alessandro Carbonare and with Romain Guyot at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, as well as at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He teaches clarinet at the Turku University of the Arts.
