
Magnus Holmander hails from Sweden and studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Hermann Stefánsson and Emil Jonasson. In the 2018-19 Season is a Rising Star of the Stockholm Concert Hall. With the accordion player Irina Seroytuk, he is winner of the 2017 Young and Promising Competition, which resulted in a European tour and the commissioning of a new work from the Swedish composer Andrea Tarrodi. Magnus has a strong interest in contemporary music. He has participated in Martin Fröst’s Dollhouse and Genesis productions and enjoys a close relationship with the composers Anders Hillborg and Rolf Martinsson, both of whose clarinet concertos he has performed. He has performed at the Grieg Hall in Bergen, the Royal Festival Hall in London and at the Auditorio di Milano.
