
Magdalena Faust started to play the clarinet at the age of nine and only two years later won a place at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin to study with Professor Diethelm Kühn. She continued her studies with Ralf Forster, Martin Spangenberg and Francois Benda in Berlin and with Jörg Widmann in Freiburg. Magdalena has been a prizewinner at competitions including the Radio Competition Concertino Prague and Deutscher Musikwettbewerb and Felix- Mendelssohn-Bartholdy competitions. She has appeared as a soloist with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. With her ensemble Trio Marie, she has also won the John Cage Competition Halberstadt and the International Alice Samter Foundation Chamber Music Competition. Magdalena holds the Principal E-flat-Clarinet and deputizing Principal chair in the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra.
