Lorenz Karls (20)

Lorenz Karls studied at the University of Music and performing Arts, Vienna and is currently studying at the University of Music “Mozarteum“ in Salzburg with Prof.Benjamin Schmid. Lorenz made his debut at the “Mozartwoche Salzburg” and has since then appeared as soloist with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, WDR Funkhaus Orchestra, Lithuanian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Bern, Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra and Kremerata Baltica among others. He is a laureate of numerous international Competitions starting at the age of 13 with first prizes at Grumiaux, Vivaldi and Kocian Competitions, followed by a 2nd prize at Concorso Postacchini and three 3rd prizes from „World Federation of International Music Competitions“: Tibor Varga, Khachaturian and Mozart Competition. Recently, he performed Mozarts violin concerto under the baton of Maxim Vengerov and plays a G.F. Pressenda Violin kindly loaned to him by Irene R.Miller through the Beare’s International Violin Society.
