Kornelia Figielska (22, Poland)

Kornelia Figielska was born in Koszalin, Poland, and began learning to play the violin at the age of 6, studying at the Bacewicz State Music School in Koszalin and the Brzewski Secondary Music School in Warsaw. She currently studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music with Jan Stanienda and Jakub Jakowicz. Kornelia plays in a duo with the pianist Adam Gozdziewski, is a member of the Monet String Quartet, and was awarded First Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Bydgoszcz, Poland. She has worked with musicians including Pierre Amoyal, Gidon Kremer and Ning Feng. She has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra and the Koszalin Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed at Carnegie Hall as winner of the International Music Talent Competition.
