Judith Van Eeckhout

Judith Van Eeckhout is Artistic Director of the Brussels Philharmonic. She received her masters degree in history of arts and musicology from the University of Ghent and studied at the Musikwissenschaftliches Institut in Hamburg. She began her professional career as a culture journalist before joining the Brussels Philharmonic in 2013, since when she has realized numerous concerts with renowned soloists and conductors, including Stéphane Denève (the Brussels Philharmonic’s Music Director), Peter Eötvös, Leonidas Kavakos, Víkingur Ólafsson and many more. She has directed prestige projects with high-level partners from the cultural field including the Queen Elisabeth Competition, the record label Deutsche Grammophon, Klarafestival and the contemporary dance company Rosas. Besides her dedication to music she is passionate about the visual arts.
