José Luis Inglés currently plays with the Bern Symphony Orchestra. He studied at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya under Josep Fuster and at the Basel Music Academy under François Benda. As a concerto soloist, he has performed and recorded the clarinet concerto by Jean Françaix with the Basel Symphony Orchestra under conductor Anu Tali. José Luis has appeared with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Cartagena, been a Young Artist with Camerata Rhein and played flamenco music at the Cantes de Levante flamenco festival in Cartagena. He is a laureate of the Orpheus Competition in Switzerland (First Prize), the Concours National d’Exécution Musicale Riddes (Second Prize), the North International Competition Stockholm (First Prize) and the BOG Stiftung Competition in Switzerland (Second Prize).
