Jiwon Choi was born in Seoul and is first violin of the ICTUS string quartet. He made his solo concert debut in 2017 having been selected to perform solo recital for the Kumho Young Artist Concert Series at Kumho Art Hall. He is a laureate of the Joongang Music Competition and the Kookmin Ilbo & Hansei University Competition. In 2015, he won Second Prize at the Summit Music Festival First Competition and participated Summit Music Festival on a full scholarship. He won the First Prize at the Summit Music Festival’s Mary Smart Concerto Competition and made his US concerto debut with the Union City Philharmonic Orchestra in New Jersey. He also performed with orchestras including the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra and Seoul Orchestra. He currently studies at the College of Music Seoul National University under Professor Ju-Young Baek.
