Janette Leván studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with Petri Alanko and Hanna Juutilainen. Since 2020 she has been a student at the Universität der Künste Berlin where her principal teacher is Christina Fassbender. During the 2020-21 Seasons she occupied the principal flute chair of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, with which she also appeared as a concerto soloist. Janette has been a finalist in the Dutch International Flute Competition and won First Prize at the Competition of Tampere Flutefest in 2020. She has also participated in the Janáček International Flute Competition (Honorable Mention) and the International Crusell Competition. She has participated in master-classes with Emily Beyyon, Andrea Lieberknecht, Felix Renggli, Susan Milan and Sophie Cherrier.
