Ivan Tikhonov’s talents were nurtured at the Ural Music College and at the age of 17 he took up a place at the Central Music School of the Moscow State Conservatory in the class of Professor Petrov Eugeny, during which time he performed with most of the conservatory’s ensembles and appeared as a concerto soloist with its orchestras. Ivan is a laureate of the All Russian Music Competition and the International Moscow Conservatory Competition. He won First Prize at the Rimsky-Korsakov International Wind Competition and now leads the clarinet group in the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. He has played concertos with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, the St Petersburg Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra and the Tolyatti Symphony Orchestra.
