Hina Maeda was born in Osaka and began playing the violin aged four. She is a scholarship student at the Tokyo College of Music High School where she studies with Machie Oguri, Koichiro Harada and Mayuko Kamio. She has won several prizes including First Prizes at the 67th All Japan Students Music Competition and the 16th Kloster Schòˆntal International Violin Competition in Germany. She has also won the Kirishima International Music Festival Award. Hina is a regular recitalist and has appeared as a concerto soloist with orchestras in Japan since the age of eleven. She also enjoys playing chamber and orchestral performances alongside her work as a soloist, in which capacity she will soon be performing in France, Austria and throughout Italy.
