Han Kim (22, South Korea)

Han Kim began playing the clarinet at the age of eight. He has appeared as a soloist with the KBS Symphony and Suwon Philharmonic Orchestras and has played chamber music with Arto Noras, Sabine and Wolfgang Meyer, Daniel Müller-Schott, Igor Levit, the Shanghai String Quartet and the Bennewitz Quartet. He has won First Prize at the Jacques Lancelot Competition, where he also received the Audience Prize and the Contemporary Prize. Han is the youngest member of the Kumho Asiana Soloists scheme and is a founder member of the Viets Quintet, which won Second Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition. He currently occupies the Second Solo Clarinet chair in the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and studies with Sabine Meyer at the Musikhochschule Lübeck.
