
Gilbert Audin occupies the principal bassoon chair in the Orchestra of the Paris Opera and teaches in the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. He is known as an ambassador of the French bassoon and is sought after all over the world for master classes. Audin studied in Nîmes, then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Maurice Allard. He is a laureate of the international competitions in Geneva, Munich and Toulon. His recordings include include Joseph Haydn’s London Trio with Jean-Pierre Rampal, the concertos of Jean Françaix and Marcel Landowski, Mozart’s concertos and the chamber music of Francis Poulenc. He plays the Buffet Crampon Prestige bassoon and is a bassoon consultant and tester for Buffet Crampon, with whom he is contributing towards the development of the instrument.
