Elina Buksha won the 2012 Latvia Great Music Award. She began playing the violin at the age of five, and from 2011 to 2017 studied at Belgium’s Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. She has been taught by Christoph Poppen at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München since 2017 and receives regular advice from Midori. She has performed alongside such artists as Maria João Pires, Midori, Augustin Dumay, Frank Braley, Gary Hoffman, the Modigliani Quartet and the Hermes Quartet and has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, I Virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta Riga, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie. She has recorded Saint-Saëns and Lalo violin concerti for the Alpha label.
