Daniil Bulayev studies at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School in Riga and at the Leopold Mozart Centre in Germany, where his teachers have included Petru Munteanu and Nelly Sarkisyan. He has appeared with orchestras including the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta, Kremerata Baltica, Moscow Virtuosi, Sinfonietta Riga, Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Latvian National Opera Orchestra, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and others. Daniil is a laureate of the Windsor Festival International String Competition (First Prize), the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition (First Prize), the Leonid Kogan International Violin Competition (First Prize), the Il Piccolo Violino Magico International Competition for Young Violinists (First Prize) and the I Zuhai International Mozart Competition (First Prize). He has participated in master-classes with violinists including Renaud Capuçon, Maxim Vengerov and Sergey Khachatryan.
