You Chae-Yeon began her studies at the Seoul Arts High School before enrolling at the Korea National University where she studied with Ye-Rin Lee and Shin-Jung Oh. She has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Daegu Philharmonic Orchestra and the Changwon Youth Symphony Orchestra and is a laureate of the Vienna New Year’s Concert International Music Competition (First Prize) and the Prague International Spring Competition (First Prize). She has also won prizes at the KBS KEPCO Music Competition, Ewha Kyunghyang Competition, the Korea Herald Music Competition, the Haneum Philharmonic Orchestra Competition and the Seoul National University’s Instrumental Practical Competition. After succeeding in her Kumho Young Artist audition, she gave a solo concert at Kumho Art Hall and was selected as a Rising Star at the Gonjiam Flute Festival.
