Arthur Stockel (25, France)

Arthur Stockel assumed the principal clarinet chair of the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg at the age of 21 and was invited to join the London Symphony Orchestra as guest principal clarinet on the ensemble’s 2019 European tour. He has been a guest of ensembles including the Orchestre de Paris and the Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre. He received his training as a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy. Arthur is a laureate of the Lisbon International Clarinet Competition (Second Prize). He studied at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris. His teachers have included Martin Spangenberg, Pascal Moraguès and Paul Meyer.
