Anastasia Schmidlin was appointed to her first principal clarinet chairs, at two different St Petersburg orchestras, at the age of twelve. She has since held the same position at the Taurida State Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared as a soloist with the Wind Symphony Orchestra in Lucerne and with the Switzerland Philharmonic Orchestra at the Kursaal, Engelberg. Anastasia is a laureate of the Laupersdorf Music Competition (First Prize), the Chieri International Competition for Young Performers (Second Prize), the St Petersburg Foundation Music Competition for Young Russian Talents (First Prize) and the International Competition The Art of the 21st Century (First Prize). She studied at the State Conservatory Rimsky-Korsakov in St Petersburg and is currently a student at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
