
Alexey Vovchenko was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He graduated from the Central Music School in Moscow, continuing his studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the direction of Professor Evgeny Petrov where he remains a postgraduate student. He won Second Prize at the Concertino Competition Prague and First Prize at the International Moscow Conservatoire Woodwind Competition. He was also a prizewinner at the Ghent International Competition. Alexey has participated in master-classes with renowned woodwind players including Charles Neidich, Wenzel Fuchs, Alessandro Carbonare, Pascal Moragues, Anne Piirainen and Nicolas Baldeyrou. He has performed in the Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Estonia, Lithuania, Georgia, Poland, Azerbaijan, Argentina, Uruguay, France, Spain and Ukraine. He has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Brussels Philharmonic.
