Alberto Álvarez García has occupied the co-principal clarinet chair at the Swedish Chamber Orchestra since 2017, where he plays under the direction of principal conductor and renowned clarinetist Martin Fröst. He has appeared as a principal with a number of Nordic symphony orchestras including the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Norwegian Opera and Ballet and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) and has held positions with the Oslo Philharmonic and Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. Alberto has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfónica Cristóbal Halffter Ciudad de Ponferrada. In 2014 he won First Prize at the National Clarinet Competition Villanueva del Arzobispo. He studied at the Conservatorio Cristóbal Halffter, the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León and at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
