Joséphine Olech occupies the Principal Flute chair at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and was previously a member of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra’s Academy. She studied at the Paris Conservatoire with Sophie Cherrier and Vincent Lucas and was a prizewinner at the Prague Spring Festival and FMAJI Competitions among others. She has also been nominated as an ADAMI Révélation Classique. Joséphine co-founded the Alma Mahler Chamber Orchestra involving young professional musicians from 12 European countries, and is a member of the Odyssée Woodwind Quintet. Her debut CD Souvenirs de Hongrie – a collaboration with the flautist Juliette Hurel and the pianist Sélim Mazari – was released in 2011. She has appeared as a concerto soloist with orchestras including the Orchestre de Chambre de Nouvelle Europe and the Orchestre de Chambre d’Ille de France.
